sustainability and environmental policy

Sustainability

There is a lot of talk about the environment, ecology and sustainability these days. But if the words are not put into practice, nothing will change. So, of course, we let these words guide all our activities in everything we do. We want to continue serving the best that nature has to offer, so we do our best to find sustainable and traceable products. The fish and shellfish come from safe, wild stocks or from farmers we know well. The vegetables are sourced from Kläpphagen’s gardens and organic farms nearby. We buy the meat from breeders who keep the animals healthy and live as naturally as possible. We use the water in our fish pond to irrigate our crops and we fill the pond with rainwater.

This is not the easiest way to run a business, nor the cheapest. But it feels right, and it’s the best.

Environmental policy

Kläpphagen is located on scenic Koster, which is why it is very close to our hearts to work for a better nature and environment and leave as small an ecological footprint as possible.
We work to be a good role model for how to run restaurants and hotels and how to take care of our environment.
In this way, environmental thinking makes for a sound economy.

Since we work very actively with the environment, we ask you as a guest to help us as best you can by not using unnecessary water or not changing towels or the like if this is not necessary.
Together we make a difference.
